A distillery that was located on a sugar estate established by Edward Henry Porter in the early 19th century. Although it was closed down in 1994, its name lives on through its two-column continuous still, which forms one of the "heritage stills" of Guyana and is still in use at Diamond distillery.
A historic Dutch trading company that traces its history back to 1723 when it was involved in triangular trade between Europe, Indonesia and the Caribbean. It primarily traded in rum and arrak until its demise in the early 20th century. The name was later revived by a Dutch independent bottler.
