Boukman is a brand of botanical Haiti rum named after Dutty Boukman, a rebellious slave, and cane cutter who sparked the Haitian Revolution in August 1791. It is owned by the French company, Summerisle, devised by its founder Adrian Keogh and was launched in 2016.
The company refers to Boukman as a Clairin trempé. The spirit is distilled in Croix-des-Bouquets, rested for two years in stainless steel and then infused with eleven different locally-foraged barks and other botanicals.
