Worthy Park Estate Ltd is a company established by Gordon Clarke in 1991 in order to acquire the Worthy Park lands in the Lluidas Vale of Jamaica's Saint Catherine parish. Clarke was the great-grandson of Frederick Clarke who had previously owned the Worthy Park Estate, purchasing it in 1918. Amazingly, the Clarke's are one of just three families to have owned it in its over 300-year history. The estate is a sprawling 100,000 acres of land, around 40% of which is dedicated to sugar cultivation.
In 2005, Clarke submitted an application to construct a state of the art distillery on the estate, intending to resume the traditional practice of rum production there. It opened in 2007 and the company markets its rum under the Worthy Park and Rum Bar brand names.
