Fonds-Préville

Distillerie de Fonds-Préville is a historic distillery located on the estate of the same name in Macouba, Martinique, in the shadow its famous Mount Pelée. The distillery was built there by Jean-Marie Martin in 1845. It was acquired by the Crassous de Médeuil family in 1912 before being sold to its current owner, Groupe Bernard Hayot (GBH), in 2002.

The distillery has held Martinique's AOC accreditation for rhum agricole since 1991, producing spirit from three local sugarcane varieties: Canne Roseau, Canne Bleue and Canne Rouge. It is best known for producing the Rhum J.M brand, however also provides new-make distillate for the Clément label.
