Caroni 1984 Full Proof 22 Year Old Heavy
From the second releases in 2006, this is a 1984 vintage and aged 22 years before being bottled for Velier in France.
An example of the distillery's heavy type (HTR) rum, this was produced in the brief period between 1980 and 1985 when some sherry was added by Caroni (1975) Ltd to the spirit. This was due to a fear that the decommissioning of the distillery's pot still would reduce the trademark aromatics of its production. The practice was later altered and the sherry added at the blending stage so it is unclear which (if any) Velier bottlings include this as an additive.
