Bidding advice
You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £5.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).
Incremental Bidding Explained
Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.

Guyana Rum 2007 Plantation 15 Year Old
Launched in 2003, Plantation Rum is a brand owned by the well-established cognac producer, Cognac Ferrand. Established in 1989, Maison Ferrand has used its extensive contacts in the spirits industry to source some exceptional casks of rum. The company also has privileged access to those in the warehouses of Clarendon and Long Pond in Jamaica, through its acquisition of the West India Rum Distillery (WIRD) and the shares in National Rums of Jamaica that came with it. Its ownership of the Bajan WIRD distillery has seen it increasingly involved in rum production as well as bottling in recent years. In June 2020 it was announced that Plantation Rum would be changing its name to support the global dialogue around racial equality, with the company accepting the hurtful connotations that the word “plantation” can evoke.
This is a limited edition small batch bottling of Plantation rum from Diamond in Guyana, bottled from just 21 casks. It is a blend of rums distilled on the Port Mourant pot still and twin-column stills in 2007, and tropically aged for 13 years in 200 litre bourbon casks. They were then shipped to France to age another two years in Ferrand casks and bottled dosage-free in 2022.
Established around 1670, the Diamond Estate is the only remaining rum distiller in Guyana. Located on the east bank of the Demerara river, the distillery is operated by Demerara Distillers Ltd (DDL), the company created by the government in Guyana as it attempted to consolidate the nation’s rum production. This began in 1974 and culminated with the closure of Uitvlugt in 1999. Diamond blends its El Dorado brand using distillate from various combinations of its rum-producing stills, which include the pair of two-column English coffey stills, installed there in the 1950s and a rarely used high-ester John Dore pot still. These operate alongside the “Heritage Stills” acquired from Uitvlugt, which are Uitvlugt’s own historic four-column French Savalle stills, the Versailles and Port Mourant wooden pot stills, and the Enmore wooden coffey still, the oldest and last of its kind in the world. El Dorado was launched in 1992, but the distillery has continued its historic practice of providing barrels to independent bottlers, resulting is a wealth of impressive releases like this.
Diamond
The only remaining rum distillery in Guyana and the producer of the El Dorado brand. Currently owned and operated by Demerara Distillers Ltd, the distillery is home to a number of the country's famous heritage stills, several of which are constructed out of wood.
Planteray
The flagship rum brand of the French company, Maison Ferrand. It was launched as Plantation in 1999 and was originally an independent label produced using casks from across the world. As of 2017, Maison Ferrand has owned the West Indies Rum Distillery which now provides rum for its core expressions.
Maison Ferrand
The trading name of Cognac Ferrand SASU, a cognac producer housed in the 18th century Château de Bonbonnet in Ars, France. The company imports and ages casks of rum from all over the world, generally finishing them in an array of different wood types before bottling as its Planteray rum brand.
