Bidding advice
You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £5.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).

Le Rocher 2017 Single ex-Rhum Cask 36 Month Old / Leonardo Leuci, Jerry Thomas Speakeasy
Clairin is considered the national spirit of Haiti, and is an eaux-de-vie produced similarly to agricole rum, generally by a single local distiller using sugarcane from their village’s and adjoining fields. Largely secreted from the world for nearly 200 years, clairin was introduced to the world by Italian distributors, Velier, after Luca Gargano and Daniele Biondi discovered these distillers on at trip to Haiti in 2012.
First bottled by Velier in 2017, clairin from Le Rocher distillery is made by Romulus Bethel. It is named after verse 7:24-27 of the Gospel of Matthew, which states \"The foolish man builds the house on the sand, while the wise man builds it on the rock.\" A deeply religious man, Romulus followed this advice by building his distillery on rock foundations, le rocher. The distillery is located in the village of Pignon in the Saint-Raphael region and production uses sugar syrup rather than fresh cane juice. This is created by slowly boiling the cane juice to preserve the aromas of the rum while retaining the character of the cane. The wash is distilled on a single pot still and bottled without any dilution of its original proof.
This 36 month aged single cask was barrelled in April 2017 in an ex-Rhum cask, and bottled in April 2020. It was selected for Leonardo Leuci of The Jerry Thomas Speakeasy in Italy.
