Bidding advice
You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £5.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).
Incremental Bidding Explained
Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.

Vieux Casimir 2016 Velier 5 Year Old Single ex-Caroni Cask / LMDW
Clairin is considered the national spirit of Haiti, and is an eaux-de-vie produced similarly to agricole rum, generally by a single local distiller using sugarcane from their village’s and adjoining fields. Largely secreted from the world for nearly 200 years, clairin was introduced to the world by Italian distributors, Velier, after Luca Gargano and Daniele Biondi discovered these distillers on at trip to Haiti in 2012.
The Douglas Casimir distillery was established by Duncan Casimir in 1979 and is today run by his son, Faubert. He is considered the finest distiller in the Barradères region, a unique quirk of which is to add herbs or vegetable matter to pure cane juice during fermentation, to enhance the spirit’s aroma. Casimir adds citronella, cinnamon and occasionally ginger. Distillation takes place in a pot still using Hawaii Blanche and Hawaii Rouge cane.
This was distilled in 2016 and aged for 5 years in an ex-Caroni rum cask before being selected by French spirit merchants, La Maison du Whisky.
La Maison du Whisky
A French company also known by the acronym, LMDW, founded in 1956 by Georges Benitah. It is now one of the largest spirits importers and distributors in Europe. Its has significant rum interests though its LM&V partnership with Velier in Italy and also produces several of its own brands.
