You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £5.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).

Diplomatico 2007 Sherry Cask Finish
Destilerías Unidas S.A. (better known as DUSA) was built in 1959 to replace a small local distillery that had been producing on the site at the foot of the Andes mountains for around 15 years. Initially the company was called Licorerías Unidas S.A. (or LUSA), and Canadian distilling giant, Seagram, was the majority shareholder opposite a group of local distillers. Seagram took full control in 1992 but were eventually wound up in 2001, their empire carved up mostly between Pernod-Ricard and Diageo. The companies sold their interests the following year to José R. Ballesteros Melendez, who renamed the company DUSA in the process. The distillery uses both molasses and sugarcane “honey” to produce light and heavy rums, respectively, and has an array of different stills: a five-column continuous still, two double-retort pot stills, a batch kettle and two more computer controlled stainless steel columns.
Diplomatico is a very highly respected rum, due to licensing arrangements this goes by the name Botucal in some regions. This is one of a number of single vintages produced, and has been finished in sherry casks.
DUSA
A rum distillery in Venezuela that was established in 1959. It was originally known as LUSA (an acronym for Licoreras Unidas SA) until 2002 when it acquired by Destilerías Unidas SA. While it no longer owns them, it continues to produce rum for the Diplomático and Cacique brands.
Diplomático
A brand of rum produced in Venezuela by Destilerías Unidas SA on behalf of the Brown-Foreman Corporation, who acquired it from the distillery in 2023. It was first introduced in 1989 and is a molasses-based rum produced in a variety of different styles.
Destilerías Unidas SA
A Venezuelan company, founded in 2002 to acquire what is now known as the DUSA distillery in Miel from Diageo. As of 2019 it has been owned through a holding company based in Spain and it currently produces a range of spirits brands that include Tepuy rum.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes.
The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
